Sorry...Again

I know, I know. I've been a terrible blogger lately. Thing's have been going good down on the farm. We've had SNOW and lots of rain. I'll post picture's on this blog of the snow, I didn't get any snowy cow picture's thou. I wish I would have, all of the cow's had ice cicles hanging from them. I broke down and did what was best for Sissy, I sold her. BUT she is at our friends house so we can see her anytime that we want to. She was growing like a weed and with her being at the house and with us having two kid's at home and most of the time only one parent it was getting hard going out there and feeding her and I couldn't offer her the grass that she need's. Her mom, "B.B.", is also now at the same place being fostered. All of our cow's have had their yearly babies and are now breed again! Hopefully this year we won't have to make an emergency call to the vet.

Please check out my wife's other new blog:
I think this is all the blogging new's that I have for now. Hopefully I'll get better at blogging again! As always, Thank you for reading!

Sorry....it hasn't been letting me log on here!

Thing's have been crazy and sad lately. And I haven't been able to post a new blog because it hasn't been letting me log on to here. Since July 4th, I don't think to much has happened until the begining of September. The only thing that happened in August was the birth of some more calf's and they are all healthy and doing great. We still have Sissy, who was born on July 4th. We almost have her wened from a bottle and she is eating ton's of hat and grain feed. We even took her to our daughter's pre-school for show-n-tell and farm week. On the 6th of September we had a "surprise" birthday party for Michael. Then on September 7th, we went to Cherry Grove SC. for a nice relaxing beach tripp. Which was also Maggie's 1st time at the beach and she loved it! We did ton's of stuff and even decided to stay an extra day! We went to the zoo, Ripley's aquaraium, shopping, train huntin' on the way down and on the way back home. Sadly, when we got home, Michael's dad had to be put in the hospital becuase he could barely walk and was talking out of his mind so they ran some test on him and his kidney wasn't working right, he had possible heart failure and pnuemonina. He was in the hospital for almost 2 week's when he passed away on September 27th 2009. The anitibiotic's weren't working so the dcotor's were not able to get his infection in his lung's to go away, and his cancer was spreading. Michael is haveing an extremly hard time. Night and bed time's seem to be the hardest. At time's it feels as if I have another child, while I'm rocking him to sleep or holding him and letting him cry. So far, thankfully, his work has not had a problem with him being out for almost a month and I hope they continue to understand. I suppose this is it for now!!!

4th Of July Excitment....

So this year for the 4th of July, Ridenhour Farm's pulled the float in the parade for the Son's of Confederate Veteran's. Rowan Rifels, Camp #405. We had ton's of fun and realy injoyed helping them again this year. After the parade, Dixie Bell, went to Sc with her grandma (who BTW came up for the 4th and was in the parade with us). Then Michael and Maggie took a nap. After the nap the plan was to go to his parent's house for a cook out BUT we went and checked on the cow's 1st, and found one of our cow's "BB" in labor with feet hanging out of her butt. Michael said that something was wrong and for me to go get the Vet phone number. So I did. If you know anything about cow's you know that when they are in labor they are off by themself's. BB was up with all the other cow's, standing up and walking around and the baby's feet were upside down, that's how Michael knew that something was wrong. The Vet came out about an hour later and him and Michael tied BB cow up and pulled the baby calf out of her. The baby is a GIRL (that seem's to happen a lot in our family). Both mom and baby are doing good. We had to unfortunaly take the baby (Sissy) away from BB because the same night she busted through the barn becuase of the cop's being out there for some reason and scared all of the cow's. Sissy couldn't get to BB to suck on her so BB's bag is extremly huge and Sissy can't fit her mouth on the teat's. Yesterday after Michael came home from work we went and checked on them and decided to bring Sissy home with us. Sissy is still weak and not strong and wild like a normal 3-4 day old calf should be. We are bottle feeding her and she is starting to come around a little bit. So it's offical now. I have hauled a goat and baby calf in thebed of my pick up truck :)

We walked around several times. We road the rain and the mery go round. We went to the petting zoo and to the see the deer and beer's and bob cat's and other animals. That was Maggie's 1st time there and she loved it. the girl's enjoyed playing on the big play grounds too. Michael called me while he was at work and was suprised to hear that we were on a choo choo train too. The only difference was he get's paid to rideone and we had to pay to ride that one.

Boredism

Well I'm bored and Michael is at work, Maggie is a sleep and Dixie Belle is on vacation. I have been cleaning the house all day. Me and Michael were supposed to go fishing until get called called into work. Michael finaly got done discing our new field. We are going to start an organic garden and sale the produce.
Dixie Belle went with her Grandma from S.C. on vacation this weekend. They went up to Virginia. they are supposed to go horse back riding and swiming. I highly dout that Dixie Belle is going to get on a horse. She wouldnt even feed it a carrot but she did have her picture taken with one while she was petting it. I just don't think she will get on it. I would love to have some horse's of our own one day. I hopeing with in the next 5 year's we will have our double wide paid off and getting a start own our house plains for our new house that we want to build. We don't want to move we just want to build our own house one day on our land. Hopefully nothing will ever happen to my great grandfather's farm land that we are living on now. It's just the matter of who is the most greetiest and want's all the money.
Dixie Belle started dance class two week's ago at Dimension's Dance Art's in Rockwell. I love it there. I took dance leason's there for 10 and half year's. I graduated from there and watching my little girl go there and walk in to dance class make's me soooo happy. She is following in my foot print's. She truely is my "mini me". Maggie on the other hand is her daddy's "mini me". Dixie Belle look's like me, act's like me, wear's her cowboy boots every day like me. I love both of my little girl's and my husband of course.
The girl's Easter picture's turned out wonderfully. We are even having Amber come out and take family picture's of us on our farm. We have been married for a year and half and dont have a single family picture of us, so I think it's time for one. I can't wait Im so excited. She does a great job!
~Puppie's~
Our puppie's, Daisy and Lilly are doing great! We love them. They are growing so fast. We didn't get to go out and play with them like we would have liked to for two weeks becuase it wouldnt stop raining. They stay right here at the house with us and don't try to run off. Our other dog, Stinky, doesnt really care for them only becuase he is jealous and he want's all the attention. He doesnt like it when they try to play with him. He run's inside the house and hide's.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone. Today is Maggie's 1st Easter. Although she doesn't really know what's going on, we want to celebrate it with her and not just her sister. We got both of our girl's a Easter basket. Dixie Belle got a Tinker Belle basket with dress up clothes and candy in it. Maggie Jo got a brown and pink easter basket with just a few plastic eggs and peice's of candy. We are going to be going to the girl's great grandparent's house in a little while to have a family Easter Egg Hunt! Dixie Belle is already excited. Michael has been luck, I should say we have all been lucky that Daddy hasnt had to work since Thursday. So we are hopeing that he wont get called in tonight. We are also hopeing that he wont have to work the Wadesboro train and be gone until Tuesday. We took the girls last week to see Daddy work on the Choo Choo.
Thursday night was interesting. Some of my grandma's baby bull claf's got out int eh back yard and played with the clothes basket and tried to eat the clothe's that were on the clothe's line.
It stormed like crazy Friday night. It thundered and liighting all night long.
Well I guess this is all for now! Happy Easter!
